Southwest Nebraska Community Betterment Corp is seeking community input on a New Construction Grant.

Southwest Nebraska Community Betterment Corporation (SWNCBC), a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization located in Grant, Nebraska is seeking community input for a New Construction Housing Grant that they are currently applying for through the Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Fund program offered by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development. A Housing Survey will be available on the SWNCBC website as well as the community offices in Grant, Wauneta and Hayes Center.

 

This New Construction Housing Grant will be in the amount of $610,000 to construct three new homes within the city limits of Grant, Wauneta and Hayes Center. Each home will be three-bedrooms, two-bathrooms with an attached 2 car garage. The homes will be sold to households whose income falls at 120% area-median-income and below. The selling price of each home is estimated to be $200,000- $225,000. All applicants will be required to secure a Single-Family Mortgage Loan and is required to provide a minimum of $1,000 towards the purchase of the home. SWNCBC offering up to $25,000 in Down Payment/Closing Cost (DPA) assistance that is a 0% deferred interest loan. A homebuyer education class is required prior to closing.

 

The full grant application is due May 9, 2024, and can be reviewed at the SWNCBC office by appointment no later than April, 30, 2024. We welcome any comments, thoughts or input on the application.
